TULSA, OK June 10, 2009 – Foodservice Equipment & Supplies magazine has released its annual Distribution Giants Study. The study features a ranking of the Top 100 foodservice equipment and supplies dealers based on sales volume. Tulsa’s Curtis Restaurant Supply climbed from #86 in 2008 to #79 with an increase in sales from $10 million dollars to $13.18 million dollars. More importantly, Curtis showed a 31.8% increase in sales giving it the second highest growth rate of the top 100 companies (see Biggest Movers - http://www.fesmag.com/article/CA6648484.html.)

Company owner Jay Gulick credits the increase in sales to the expansion of large commercial ventures such as the 2008 Downstream Casino and Resort project which included kitchen planning and design services, as well as furnishing foodservice and bar equipment. Mr. Gulick comments, “In addition, our experienced sales staff and showroom personnel were instrumental in growing our ‘core’ product line of restaurant equipment and supplies by developing strong relationships with eastern Oklahoma’s restaurants, schools and other commercial kitchens”.

Even with a challenging economic outlook, the industry as a whole has remained fairly consistent over the past five years. The top 100 dealers reported sales of $4.74 billion dollars which includes a 2.85% increase from 2007 to 2008. As for Curtis Restaurant Supply, they remain devoted to supplying superior products and customer service to their commercial clientele.
